"Hi there! My name is Marika, and I am originally from Italy. Over the past 10 years, I have had the opportunity to teach and tutor students of different ages and learning styles. I am a certified educator with state certification in Mathematics for grades 5 to 9 and in Spanish for grades K to 12. I genuinely enjoy helping students feel more confident, especially when math feels overwhelming at first. I have worked with students from elementary to college level in topics such as foundational skills, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and introductory college math. We will use strategies like guided practice, worked examples, and reviewing mistakes together, because that is often where the best learning happens. I am also fluent in Italian and Spanish, and I have experience teaching English to non-English speakers. I taught ELL English for 3 years, and now I use that experience to support multilingual students in math, especially with vocabulary and word problems. In addition to math.
