"Hi, I am a patent attorney with an electrical engineering degree from Northwestern University and have been tutoring math for many years. I was also a coach for elementary school math Olympiad. I take a patient differentiated approach and try to identify struggles and address weaknesses in fundamentals rather than merely teaching concepts. Ordinarily, issues in math come down a gap in some earlier fundamental topic and not with misunderstanding of subject matter.

Test taking is what primarily drives poor grades and test taking in math requires certain skills to be perfected and particular approach toward the test. I will work with your student to improve their test taking ability in math. I also teach math concepts in different ways depending on the type of learning your student is best apt towards. I tutor students from 1st grade through 12th grade with an emphasis on 4th grade through 8th grade. As a coach for Math Olympiad, I taught a class of 4th and 5th graders in topics such as number theory, probability, and algebraic expressions.
