My goal as a math tutor is for you to both gain confidence and acquire an appreciation for math. The objective of each tutoring session is to convert the struggle into a strength all the while creating a positive experience. My approach is to pinpoint what areas of you struggle with, then build a step-by-step process to remedy this area. I primarily try to keep the pencil in your hand so you gain the hands-on experience that is necessary to properly learn and absorb math.

I currently teach Calculus and Statistics at College of Lake County. I have previously taught Mathematics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I am looking to tutor a few students through Wyzant that would like my help. I hold a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Akron and my Bachelor of Science degree is in Math Education. Not only do I understand the math concepts backward and forward, but I also know through my education and 17+ years of teaching and tutoring experience that there are best practices for teaching math.
