I have over a dozen years of teaching experience in French - as a college professor, a high school teacher, a camp counselor, and online instructor, and a private tutor. I love to teach and I love to learn alongside my students! My teaching style is friendly, playful, and competency-based. I focus on helping my students feel confident in their abilities and encouraging them to stay perpetually curious about the world through the lens of language and culture.

My PhD and research focused on Quebec studies from a girlhood studies perspective, but I have also spent significant time in France, and I have been lucky enough to work with colleagues from Western and Central Africa during my summers at the Concordia Language Villages. For me, learning French has been a passport to many wonderful surprises - friendship, adventure, and deeper levels self-expression. I hope to continue sharing the wealth of that experience with others through teaching.

Over my years of teaching and my own studies, I have also spent a great deal of time developing very advanced writing skills in English. I really enjoy helping others strengthen their written communication through vocabulary, grammar, and thoughtful construction of arguments. I have a lot of experience helping peers and students improve their writing, and would be delighted to continue that journey as well.

Finally, I taught English in France for two school years between my undergraduate and graduate programs. While I do not have a TESOL certification, I would be honored to support anyone looking to gain confidence and skill in the bizarre and wonderful English language.
