"I’ve been playing guitar for over 40 years and have been a Guitar Instructor for more than 30 of them. I graduated from Shenandoah University Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. I’ve studied Classical Guitar, Jazz Guitar, Violin, Piano, Music Theory, Psychology, and other related areas, before graduating with Magna Cum Laude Honors in 1996. I have experience playing in rock and pop bands, jazz combos, mixed instrumental duos and trios, classical guitar quartets, small and large classical guitar ensembles, and solo performance.

I use a combination of teaching materials including method books, my own original teaching materials, and material chosen by the student. I like to customize my lesson plans to fit the needs of each individual student. I have patiently guided hundreds of aspiring guitarists through their musical development from childhood through adulthood and beyond. I work with mature adult students as well as middle-school aged children, teenagers, and retired adults.

My teaching experience includes community arts programs and music schools, various music stores, and my professional home teaching studio as well as several years of specialization in web-based online guitar instruction. Although I am new to this platform, I have extensive experience providing online guitar instruction to students via Zoom and other platforms.
