"Hello there, my name is Farjana and I can support all K-12 learning needs. It is my standard to create individualized lesson plans for my students and to adapt my teaching methods to appeal to my students' learning styles. My love for teaching stems from a love of learning. I believe teaching to be both a calling and a passion. It certainly is for me. The greatest success I can have as a tutor is to create an eager, life long learner.

I specialize in core subjects, including ELA (reading and writing), fluency, reading comprehension, and literature analysis. I also provide expert support in essay writing at all levels, whether it’s elementary writing, middle school assignments, high school essays, or IB/college-level papers. In math and science, I tutor algebra, geometry, and biology, and I also help students develop stronger study skills, organization, and time management strategies to succeed in high school and beyond.

I believe it is critical to first get to know a student, understand his or her learning style, and then assess the specific areas or skills that require development. From there, I create individualized instruction to address these needs. I give frequent feedback to students and parents and appreciate it in return. Learning should be a pleasant experience, and I strive to provide that for my students.

I am in the process of the completion of my Bachelor's degree in Biology. In addition, I collaborated with a scientist at the USDA on a research study that included comparing various bacteria populations via the use of a polymerase chain reaction.
