"Hello! My name is Mika and I am a Florida International University alumna. I majored in Business Administration (Finance). I graduated Summa Cum Laude in my high school and college class. I am currently a second-year dental student at the University of Maryland. I am extremely passionate about helping others succeed and reaching their fullest academic potential. I want to create an enjoyable, comfortable, and affordable environment for students to be confident in their studies. I believe that there is nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment after a semester of hard work, and I would like to guide others to get that same experience. I find teaching to be an enriching experience for both the students and myself.

I have tutored math on Wyzant for a total of 5 years. I was also a middle school math teacher for a few months in Florida, so I understand the curriculum and how it should be delivered. From my previous teaching experience, I find that the best method of teaching is to break each problem down by steps, while explaining the concepts in words that are comprehensible to the student. That way I can ensure that they understand the material to its entirety. Not every student learns the same, so I employ several techniques to present a concept to them until I know what works best.

In terms of science, I love how it is engaging and its application is visible in the real world. I hope to spread my love for this subject to all other students. I have been a science mentor for the Health Academy at my high school for several years and was the executive board member of the ASDA chapter at FIU for 2 years. My favorite subject to teach is Chemistry and I have been tutoring this subject for 4 years.
