"Hello, I'm Maati! I am a current Ph.D. student studying Biophysics at Harvard University, and I carry over 6 years of experience working with students of all ages, from kindergarten to college, in subjects ranging from reading to advanced calculus.

I received my Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Spelman College, during which time I worked for three years as a Directed Supplemental Instructor tutoring undergraduate students in Calculus and Pre-Calculus. I have also tutored online as a math and language arts tutor for K-12 students. I recently completed my Masters of Arts in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard in 2025, and have served as a Teaching Assistant in an advanced undergraduate biology course focused on cellular biology, optics, and microscopy. I also bring years of experience working with students in informal learning contexts as both an outdoor summer camp counselor and a volunteer community science educator with BioBus.

Meeting students where they are and helping them to get where they want to be is what defines my tutoring practice.
