"I am currently a college student at Western New England University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science. Throughout high school, I completed advanced mathematics courses including AP Calculus, AP Precalculus, and AP Statistics, which gave me a strong foundation in problem solving and analytical thinking. I was also a member of the National Honor Society, recognizing my academic performance and commitment to service, and I was selected to attend Massachusetts Boys State, a competitive leadership and academic program. I continue to build on these skills through my college coursework, including Calculus and economics.
During high school, I served as a volunteer tutor, working primarily one-on-one with middle school and high school students. I helped students understand math concepts, complete homework, and prepare for quizzes and exams. I focused on breaking problems down step by step, identifying where students were struggling, and explaining material in clear, simple terms. In addition to tutoring, I placed second in my town in the Voice of Democracy essay competition, which strengthened my ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
My tutoring style is patient, structured, and supportive. I adapt my explanations to fit each student’s learning style and encourage questions throughout the session. My goal is to help students build confidence and truly understand the material rather than rely on memorization. With my strong math background, tutoring experience, and clear communication skills, I am well prepared to support students at a variety of skill levels." less...
