"My name is Chelsea, and I’m excited to introduce myself as a tutor. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and over five years of experience working with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings.

I spent several years as a kindergarten teacher, where I worked closely with students ages 4 to 7 on foundational reading, math, and social-emotional skills. I’ve also tutored elementary students outside the classroom, providing targeted literacy and math support based on each child’s unique needs.

My teaching style is patient, structured, and engaging. I use evidence-based methods, incorporate visual and hands-on tools, and adjust lessons to match a student’s learning style. I believe building a strong connection with students is key to helping them feel confident and capable.

One of my greatest strengths is early literacy instruction. I’m Science of Reading certified, which means I use a research-backed, structured approach to help students master essential reading skills like phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, and fluency.

Throughout my teaching career, I’ve helped young learners move from struggling to thriving readers by focusing on the building blocks of language and making learning both accessible and fun. I’ve worked with general education students, English language learners, and students with learning differences, adapting lessons to support different needs and abilities.
