"Hello all! Im Sophia and I'm a current clinical psychology and neuroscience PhD student at Temple University who has extensive experience in tutoring statistics, research methods, and psychology classes. I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology in Spring 2023 at Temple as well. I graduated from University of California, San Diego in 2018 with departmental honors and high distinction in clinical psychology. I have done one on one tutoring for over 5 years now and enjoy helping students gain confidence in their math abilities, as someone who was extremely intimidated by statistics at the start of my undergraduate career. I approach tutoring from an empathetic, patient perspective, and especially enjoy helping those who struggle with math, as I once did. I particularly enjoy teaching students how to truly understand statistics and how to translate statistics into meaningful findings.

I have TAd three advanced undergraduate level statistics/research methods previously and tutor primarily undergraduate and graduate level statistics. During my undergraduate career, I won an award for Excellence in Undergraduate Instruction for my efforts in TAing advanced statistics classes. I have the most experience in tutoring college level behavioral statistics/research methods courses. I can also assist with SPSS and JMP statistical programming. I also truly enjoy assisting students with research projects that involve statistical analyses from start to finish (lit review, hypothesis generation, data analysis, report write up). I have helped a number of students with their master's theses and dissertations by providing feedback on analyses, report write up, etc.
