"I am a third-year student at Warren Wilson College studying Environmental Science with a concentration in Ecological Forestry and a minor in Outdoor Leadership. I’ve always loved learning, but I also know that learning can be challenging. As someone with ADHD, I’ve spent many years exploring different study strategies, organization systems, and learning approaches to figure out what truly works for me. This experience helps me connect with students who may struggle with focus, confidence, or traditional learning methods, because I understand what it feels like and how empowering it can be when something finally “clicks.”
I currently work as a peer statistics tutor at my college, where I support students by breaking down tough concepts into simple, approachable steps. Through this role, I’ve learned how important patience, encouragement, and flexibility are in helping students find their own learning rhythm.
Before tutoring at the college level, I spent several summers leading nature- and coding-based summer camps for kids ages 5–12. I planned and led hands-on activities, guided small groups, and worked one-on-one with campers who needed extra support. These experiences taught me how to keep younger students engaged, build trust, and create a fun and positive environment where learning feels exciting, not stressful.
I’ve provided one-on-one tutoring, small-group instruction, and full group leadership, and I love adapting my teaching style to match each student’s needs. Whether a child needs help building foundational skills, staying organized, understanding homework, or developing confidence, I work to meet them where they are with patience, encouragement, and support.
My goal is to help students feel capable, understood, and proud of their progress, because every learner deserves to feel successful in their own way" less...
