"Hi, I'm Andrea! I started tutoring almost 15 years ago while I was a college student, studying physics at Washington University in St. Louis, where I got my Bachelor's degree. I went on to get a Master's in physics from the University of Washington in Seattle and continued tutoring after graduating from there in 2012. I went on to do research, teach in a classroom setting (math and physics), and work as an editor of scientific research articles, but I realized that helping others learn one-on-one and sharing my love of math in particular was really the most enjoyable and rewarding to me! I'm excited to be focusing on that again!

In an individual setting, I've worked with students from first grade through college, at math levels ranging from arithmetic through calculus and science levels ranging from general science through college-level physics. Among those topics, I've been particularly drawn to tutoring pre-algebra, algebra I/II, and pre-calculus.

I guide students through the problem-solving process using their own logic as much as possible so that they can develop a deeper understanding of the process and confidence in applying those skills independently as well. Students have often remarked on my patience and thoroughness as a tutor and are pleasantly surprised when topics that had seemed very confusing become clear and even fun, which is very rewarding to see as a tutor! I look forward to helping more students reach their academic goals and develop confidence and enjoyment in the subjects I love!" less...
