"I recently graduated Parrish Community High School as of May 2024. I am currently a Music Education major at University of Central Florida. I decided on a major that allows me to teach students music because after teaching others how to play different percussion instruments throughout all four years of high school, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue as a career. I don’t have official paid tutoring experience, but I have taught and am currently teaching both high school and middle school students through assisting in marching band rehearsals, giving guidance with solo and ensemble works, and helping individual students with general techniques among various percussion instruments.

Along with teaching others, I was also my high school’s front ensemble section leader for 2 years as well as being Principal Percussionist of the Gulf Coast Honor Band for my senior year of high school. I was involved in both my high school’s Key Club for 3 years and TRI-M Honor Society for 1 year. In both, I gained a lot of experience helping students with learning music and core subjects through volunteering. As for awards, I am a 100% Bright Futures Scholarship recipient and graduated in the top 20% of my class.

It was hard to expand my musical knowledge and experience in high school when it came to percussion because there wasn’t really a percussionist in my area that I knew of.
