"Hi, I’m Haani. I’ve been tutoring for nearly 10 years both in-person and online, specializing in statistics and standardized test prep. I received my BA in economics from UNC Chapel Hill in just 3 years, and my MS in Analytics a year later from North Carolina State. You could say I’m experienced in navigating the educational system and getting the most from it. Like many things in life, you get as much out of school as you’re willing to put into it. I’ve found that hard work, clearly outlined goals, and purposeful action is the most reliable path to success, and I bring that mentality to every one of my sessions.

Math was something that came naturally to me. That is, until I hit geometry. Suddenly I found myself drowning in a sea of new vocab, formulas, and proofs (ugh). Only when my kind, empathetic teacher sat down with me, re-explaining the lessons using a different set of explanations and examples, was I finally able to catch on to the confusing paradigm shift. I understand what it’s like to not get something right away, and how frustrating and demoralizing it can be. I strive to meet students where they’re at, working together until we find something that just ‘clicks’.

For many, college is the key to a bright future. For good or for ill, standardized testing remain a crucial part of any college application. Regardless of if you’re taking the SAT, ACT, or GRE, I have extensive experience coaching students to drastically improve scores; many of my students have scored in the 90th, 95th, even 99th percentile of these exams. My curriculum is composed of official practice tests, with strategies, tricks, and shortcuts sprinkled liberally throughout.
