"Hi! My name is Minal and I am currently a student at the University of Maryland, College Park pursuing my B.S. in Physiology and Neurobiology. I scored a 1530 on the physical SAT through self-study, but have experience with the format of the new digital SAT as well. Throughout my time as a student, I have grown to realize that my personal interest in course content was often determined by the teacher's demeanor towards students and the curriculum; engaging professors often showed a zeal for teaching and student interaction that has heavily affected my approach to tutorship. My lessons start by introducing the material in a digestible way and working through practice problems with the student(s), before offering the student a chance to practice the material on their own. Afterwards, I would reconvene with the student to go over all sample questions and find any places they may have had trouble on. With that said, I always will alter my approach to best tailor the student and their individual needs!
I have half a year's experience in virtually tutoring students around the world on the SAT (at that time physical). In addition, I have previously worked with small groups of 8-12 students in an in-person classroom setting going over the SAT as a teacher of a college-prep institution, although I worked with students one-on-one if requested or assistance was needed to better understand the material. I have experience with various overarching strategies when it comes to tackling question types on the exam, and am flexible with working with the student to strategize an individualized plan that works best for them.
I am always open to improving my abilities and skillset as a teacher, and am more than willing to accept any feedback from both students and parents! If you have any questions about me or my credentials, or would like to discuss matters, please feel free to do so- I am always available and will respond efficiently!" less...
