"I am a theoretical physicist and a physics and mathematics teacher and tutor. I received my Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Riverside. My active research is focused on the field of condensed matter physics, where I search for new states of matter in unusual materials due to the surprising effects of Quantum Mechanics.

I am also a passionate teacher. My first experience came in college, when I was sought-out as a tutor and mentor by the Cornerstone Center for Advanced Learning at Washington University in St. Louis, my alma mater. For this work, I received the Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Performance as an Academic Mentor. After college, I taught 12th-Grade Honors Physics at a private high school and tutored students in physics and math from the college level all the way down to elementary school students. My greatest source of experience comes from my teaching assignments as a doctoral student. For 7 years, I taught all levels of students (including PhD) in a variety of contexts: One-On-One tutoring during office hours, classroom lessons, laboratory instruction, and discussion facilitation. I naturally have an extroverted and engaging personality, and I am sensitive to different learning styles and personality types.

Theoretical physics requires a mastery of a multitude of mathematical skills. I have always loved mathematics, and I have excelled in my mathematics education. But math has not always come easy to me. I have the experience necessary to see the path towards a solution, and I have the experience to anticipate the errors students might make toward their goal.

Physics is my greatest passion. I have pursued it all the way to the completion of a Ph.D., and I am still an active researcher in theoretical physics. But my passion will always include a dedication to teaching physics, for which I now have over 9 years of experience.

Please contact me if you are dedicated to your studies of physics or mathematics, and are seeking a tutor, mentor, or teacher who is e" less...
