"I am a fourth-year Ph.D. Candidate in Global and International Studies at the University of California, Irvine, with an emphasis in Law, Society, and Culture. I also hold an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago, an M.A. in Global Studies from UC Irvine, and a B.A. in Political Science (with honors) from New College of Florida. My academic training spans political science, history, economics, sociology, anthropology, and geography, and my research focuses on global history, political economy, and law and society.
I have extensive teaching and mentoring experience, having supported students across sixteen university-level courses in political science, history, anthropology, and global studies. My work as a formal Teaching Assistant since 2017 has given me years of one-on-one instructional experience, both in person and online, where I help students engage with complex material, improve their writing, and build study and organizational skills. In addition, I have taught internationally through volunteer (and paid) education projects in twelve countries (India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Latvia, and Lithuania), working with K–12 students in the social sciences and humanities. I have also completed UC Irvine’s Teaching Assistant Development Program (TADAP) and regularly facilitate academic writing workshops that are highly regarded by my students.
My approach to tutoring combines structure and flexibility. I meet students where they are, whether strengthening comprehension, building confidence with analytical writing, or connecting big-picture themes across history, society, and government. I emphasize active learning, critical thinking, and effective study habits. I enjoy working with both high school and college students, tailoring each session to their goals and learning styles to support both immediate success and long-term growth." less...
