"Hi, I'm Rob! I graduated UCLA with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and am currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science (also at UCLA). My area of interest and expertise is in the field of computer networking, more specifically with network algorithms such as routing and packet classification. However, I'm well versed and have taken multiple classes in all sorts of CS classes such as introductory level, data structures, programming languages, etc. and am comfortable with the C++, Python, and Java languages. I'm also experienced in the field of cybersecurity and hold the CompTIA Security+ certification.

I have privately tutored for over 5 years. The subjects I have taught include the following: elementary to high school levels of math, AP Computer Science, SAT/ACT test prep, and help with college CS courses. I've also TAed multiple programming courses at UCLA and led my own discussion sections. Overall, I have a wide array of teaching experiences ranging from classroom settings to one-on-one and for students from elementary school all the way up to college and adults. I love working with students and find teaching genuinely fun. I always make it my goal to help students reach that aha moment where they are finally able to connect the dots and truly understand a concept. I find that guiding students and supporting them as they reach that aha moment by themselves is a much more powerful and effective method than simply giving away all the answers and solutions.
