"Hello! My name is Komal, and I am an English instructor with several years of experience teaching writing, literature, and critical reading at the college level. I recently completed my PhD in English at Oklahoma State University, where my work focused on literary research and analytical writing across multiple genres. I have taught first-year writing, composition, and upper-level literature courses, working closely with students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. In addition to classroom teaching, I have extensive experience tutoring at the university Writing Center, where I worked one-on-one with students from a wide range of linguistic, cultural, and educational backgrounds. This work has given me a deep understanding of the diverse challenges students face, whether they are multilingual writers, first-generation college students, or simply developing confidence in academic writing. My goal as a tutor is always to meet students exactly where they are and support them as they become more capable, thoughtful, and independent writers.

My tutoring approach is warm, supportive, and highly individualized.
