"I have a PhD in Math that I received from the University of Arizona and a wide variety of teaching experience. I had also received by Bachelor's from the University of Arizona where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. As an undergrad, I tutored for the campus tutoring center, which involved both managing a drop-in tutoring room and holding one-on-one appointments. As a graduate student, I taught college algebra, business calculus, and calc2 to college freshmen and sophomores. I have been teaching for about 4 years and tutoring for about 6 years. I am qualified to tutor just about any kind of mathematics that would be taught in elementary school up to the final years of an undergraduate math major in university.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes understanding why problems are solved the way that they are, instead of simply memorizing formulas and procedures. In this, it's important to tailor the approach to each students' needs, breaking down the solutions step by step to ensure understanding. My goal in every session is to build confidence that you can succeed in math.

In order to achieve this goal, my tutoring style typically includes going over the concepts that are needed, then doing a problem together, and finally having the student work out some problems on their own.
