"I've always loved learning about the natural world and it led me to pursue a Bachelor's in Biology, a Master's in Developmental and Reproductive Biology, and a PhD in Molecular Biology with a focus on biomedical cancer research. My career is the pharmaceutical space, bringing innovative therapeutics to meet an unmet patient need.

During my Masters, I was a teaching assistant (TA) through every semester for 2 years, teaching hundreds of college-aged students. My main class was an Anatomy Lab where I taught 80 students at a time. I would lecture for part of the class then lead dissections where students would perform dissections in groups. Exams were administered every few weeks, and I wrote and graded every exam. For these exams, I held study sessions where students could come to ask questions and where I would often review concepts on the white board.

Through my PhD I was selected to be a tutor for the incoming PhD students who sought tutoring for the rigorous first year coursework. For 4 years, I was a tutor for first-year PhD students and would meet with students individually to talk through concepts and review materials.

In addition to these formal teaching experiences, I was a volunteer for the Women in STEM organization of high school students who visited Rutgers University every semester. We would give the students a tour of the labs and discuss over a group lunch what a career in STEM looks like. Additionally, in my research laboratory, I mentored numerous high school and college-aged students for 3-6 months at a time during their summer internships.

My passion for teaching is inherited from my father who is a teacher and from my love of discussing scientific concepts in an engaging and approachable way. My goal is to work together with my student/s to efficiently and enthusiastically tackle the exciting world of biology one cell at a time! My previous students have commented on my approachability and enthusiasm." less...
