I received my PhD degree in Organic Chemistry from Brown University and completed my Postdoctoral studies in Scripps Research Institute and Yale University. Before joining Brown University, I earned my Bachelor and Master degree in organic chemistry from Nanjing University. To date, I have published 20 papers in peer-reviewed chemistry Journals including Journal of American Chemical Society, Organic Letters, Biochemistry etc.

In colleges and graduate schools I worked as teaching assistants for 5+ years and gained a substantial amount of experience teaching organic chemistry courses and lab sessions for undergraduate students. When teaching students, I emphasize understanding the mechanisms and principles, rather than rote memorization (learn smarter, not harder). I have a tremendous passion in mentoring high school, college as well as pre-med students.
