"Hi, I’m Dr. Meghan! I am excited to help students of all ages who want to develop their grit and growth mindset muscles in any subject area. I love mentoring students in how to break out of a fixed mindset and/or perfectionistic tendencies. I can also tutor high school and college students in psychology. Finally, I enjoy working with elementary and middle school students who would like to expand their vocabulary and spelling skills through learning how the English writing system actually works.

I have a PhD in Psychology with an emphasis in cognitive development and developmental psychology from the Department of Cognitive Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. My doctoral research and dissertation focused on early language and mathematical development / interventions, as well as executive functioning.

I also have a Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. Between my Masters and PhD, I worked on reading and dyslexia research at Boston Children’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School and the University of Southern California. Since my PhD, I have taken numerous graduate level classes in linguistics. I have also given professional development workshops on developing grit and growth mindset.

I use a strengths-based, growth mindset, anti-racist approach to help students learn to flex their perseverance and grit muscles, develop their self-confidence, and focus on their distinct gifts." less...
