"Hi my name is Morgan and I have a BA, MA, and PhD in Sociology. I also have 4+ years of teaching, teaching support, and tutoring experience, with most of that being within sociology at the university level. I taught and was a teaching assistant for introduction to sociology courses and was able to teach a media and culture sociology class. I was able to teach at the university level because of my MA in Sociology. I really love teaching and educating the next generation of critical thinkers and problem solvers. My approach to teaching and tutoring is to highlight the ways in which I have been where students have been and be empathetic. I did not originally enjoy taking sociology courses in college because the subject matter was counter what I believed and experienced. However, over time, I was able to adapt and find my place within sociology and eventually go onto graduate school. I try to embody this experience when teaching because I know sociology can be a tough subject to learn and grapple with. I know that being a student is hard and there is a lot that students have to navigate. My goal and purpose with teaching and tutoring is to emphasize the journey that comes with learning, but also that facing challenges and getting out your comfort zone, growth is possible and that will bear out in the results.
