"I hold a PhD in modern history from Columbia University. I am available as a tutor for AP Modern European History, AP United States History, AP World History, the Digital SAT, the GRE, history Regents exams, the Critical Analysis and Reasoning section of the MCAT (CARS), and essay writing, reading comprehension, and test prep more broadly. I bring nearly 10 years as an educator and a lifelong passion for learning to my tutoring. I offer a tutoring service that can be flexibly structured around the student’s schedule and needs, whether it is specific content review, test prep strategies, constructive feedback at any phase of a particular writing/research assignment, or help digesting material.

AP and college-level history courses can be particularly challenging since they place many demands on students. Students must be able to absorb and synthesize vast amounts of detail, draw out themes and trends from data, critically evaluate and interpret historical documents, and craft and present coherent arguments in written form. Many of these skills are also essential for strong performances on verbal, reading, and writing exams. Successfully applying these skills may seem intimidating, but anybody can master them with sufficient effort and attention. For me, the greatest rewards of teaching are the moments when students recognize their capacity for critical thinking and interpretation and begin to arm themselves with skills that will serve them throughout the rest of their lives and careers.
