"Hello, I am so glad you found me! My name is Liam (they/them), and I am a Clinical Psychology doctorate student at Suffolk University. I am excited to share a bit about myself and look forward to chatting more soon!
I graduated from Pitzer College in California with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Data Science, earning a major GPA of 4.0 and an overall GPA of 3.93. During my time in college, I taught Montessori education and worked as a teacher’s assistant in elementary school classrooms. Now at Suffolk University, I am part of the teaching apprentice program, where I co-teach undergraduate and master’s counseling students in psychology. My research focuses on education and child development, which allows me to bring a unique skill set to working with diverse students of varying ability levels and ensuring their individual needs are met in their specific contexts.
I have experience working in higher education, including office affairs and college admissions, which has given me a deep understanding of what schools look for and potential red flags in the admissions process. I have mentored five undergraduate students through the graduate school application process, guiding them in interviews, cover letters, CVs, personal statements, and organizing their application lists. Now, as a graduate student myself, I serve on the student committee that assists with the application cycle, giving me unique insight into what students and programs prioritize in the graduate application process.
I also bring a strong background in writing and research to our discussions, with 13 conference poster presentations, 2 oral conference presentations, 1 peer-reviewed publication and 3 more in preparation, and 2 book chapters in progress. I am passionate in helping students reach their goals in a highly competitive undergrad/graduate education arena. I know that I can leverage my experience to help you craft the strongest possible application for college and graduate school." less...
