"Science has always been more than just a subject to me. It’s a way of thinking, exploring, and making sense of the world. As a current PhD student in Quantitative Biology, I now get to bring that passion into the college classroom, where I teach undergraduate microbiology labs and conduct independent research. But my journey as an educator started well before graduate school. I’ve spent years in Texas classrooms teaching everything from AP Biology and Environmental Systems to 7th-grade science, always with the goal of making science feel accessible, exciting, and relevant.
Along the way, I’ve also worked as a private tutor and STEM camp instructor, supporting students from elementary school through college in subjects like biology, biochemistry, environmental science, anatomy, and even coding with statistics. My approach is engaging and tailored to the learner in front of me. I believe in meeting students where they are, breaking down tough concepts with relatable real-world examples, using visuals and diagrams to bring lessons to life, and always prioritizing true understanding over memorization. I ask thoughtful questions that deepen curiosity and help students make meaningful connections, building both their confidence and their ability to think like scientists.
In addition to science, I have a strong background in English. I’ve tutored students in reading and writing across grade levels and even write fiction for fun. I enjoy helping students build confidence in their writing, from grammar and literary analysis to essays and major assessments.
I also support students with college counseling, drawing from my own application experiences and formal advising in pre-med and graduate programs. I guide students through personal statements, application strategy, and interview prep to help them stand out.
Whether you’re working toward academic goals in science, writing, or college admissions, I’m here to help you succeed with clarity and confidence." less...
