"I am currently a PhD student in Cognitive Neuroscience, where I combine my background in psychology and STEM to study how the brain supports learning, decision-making, and attention. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience with Honors from New York University, where I also pursued a minor in Mathematics. This training provided me with a strong foundation in both scientific theory and quantitative methods, and it also deepened my passion for helping others succeed in academic subjects that students often find challenging.
My tutoring experience includes working with students in calculus, precalculus, general chemistry, and college-level physics. I have worked with high school and college students in both one-on-one and small group settings, where I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into clear, approachable steps. In addition, I served as a learning assistant for a course in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, where I supported students by facilitating discussions, answering questions during class, and helping them build strong problem-solving skills. Through these roles, I have developed a patient and encouraging teaching style that emphasizes conceptual understanding alongside practical problem-solving.
I am passionate about tutoring because I truly enjoy seeing students grow in confidence and curiosity. I am good at adapting to different students' learning styles, and encouraging them to engage actively with the material rather than simply memorize formulas or facts. I believe that with the right support and mindset, every student can develop both competence and enjoyment in STEM subjects." less...
