"Hello, I'm Nicklaus! I am a first-year PhD student at the Ohio State University. I graduated from the Ohio State University with my Master's in Applied Neuroscience and magna cum laude from the University of Dayton with majors in Pre-medicine and Psychology. I've always been excited to assist my fellow peers in any way I could. The majority of the time it was academically as I was on National Honors Society in high school as well as making Dean's List every semester during my college career. I've realized how fulfilling it can be to see someone else begin to succeed on their own after you were able to help them pave their way. I bring that hope into every session to give students the tools to succeed independently when the session ends. It's amazing how much more excited a student becomes about learning when they understand how to solve problems on their own. My tutoring philosophy is known as "inquiry-based learning" that does not just walk students through problems step by step. Rather, it focuses on using questions directed back at the student that require them to think more deeply about the material and search for the answers. I focus on giving students the tools to succeed instead of just giving answers.

I have been tutoring for ten years, and I have experience with students ranging from high school to adults returning to college to obtain their degrees. I was previously employed with Ohio State as a professional tutor, but I recently switched my position to biomedical research lab technician/manager. I work closely with highly qualified individuals within the behavioral neuroscience field, and am excited to share some of that experience with you.

I have had success in tutoring chemistry, biology, various mathematics, psychology, and the one I find most students requesting help with is statistics. I am more than happy to adjust my tutoring style to best fit a student's needs as long as you are ready and willing to learn the material.
