"Hi! My name is Andrew and my favorite thing about photography/camera work is connecting with other people through the process. Using a camera helps me connect with my subjects, my audience, and even my peers. Over the several art classes I have taken, I learned the most from interacting with my peers and professors. As a portrait photographer, I found friends who shared the same passion and we shared ideas, helping each other grow creatively. As a photography student, I not only learned techniques and practices from my professors, but I also engaged in conversation with my classmates and professors, where everyone gained new experience. As a photojournalist and photomanager for a local newspaper I not only connected with local students, professionals, and community members in order to craft stories, but I also connected with my fellow staff members in order to teach and share my knowledge in photojournalism.

I have direct experience teaching newspaper staff members about photojournalism, and I also have experience connecting with peers, students, mentees, friends, professors, and professionals. Combine that with 7 years of using all things camera-related (from shooting to editing), I am capable of being able to work with ambitious photographers of all ages and experience. My tutoring strategy is to work together on a peer level, where we both exchange ideas.
