"I have a Bachelor's of Science in Physics that I obtained from Harvey Mudd College in May 2025. I was a teaching assistant/tutor in some capacity the entire time I was in college, teaching areas of chemistry and physics. My approach to this type of tutoring was to let students bring their homework to our tutoring sessions and give them the time and space to work and be their as a guide and reference if they had any questions. When questions arose, I would work through the problem with them, explaining the underlying principles behind the problem and the steps we were taking to find the solution. If time permitted, I would also go over similar problems with them to give them a broader sense of the concept.

In addition to tutoring in college, I was a science and math tutor in high school as a volunteer for the Science National Honor Society. My approach then was similar: I would work through challenging problems with my students, explaining the underlying concepts as we went.

I am currently a part-time instructor at a Mathnasium, where I help students of all ages with math in varying levels, from simple addition to pre-calculus. Here, I let students work through there problems, circling around to check their work, answer any questions they might have, and explain more in depth any concepts they may be confused by or curious about." less...
