"I'm a writer who loves to share writing, and help others to become better writers through learning the techniques of rhetorical analyses. Rhetorical analyses (RA) are two intimidating words, I agree. I can ease your mind with three simple words: Observation, Interpretation, Evaluation. These are the basics of RA. My immediate love of writing and literature is poetry. I am published in several literary journals, and I am currently working with a publisher. The poets who have influenced me mostly are Lucille Clifton, Muriel Rukeyser, William Carlos Williams, William Stafford, . . . and others, but these four are at the top of my list. I cannot forget to mention Joy Harjo; I have studied her concept of placing oral storytelling onto paper--there is a difference in writing a story and orally telling a story. Ms. Harjo attempt to capture the oral tradition.
American Literature has been my focus in poetry and fiction, with a major focus in Native American Literature. I have been intrigued with oral storytelling since childhood; my grandmother was the storyteller, and it is her storytelling that encouraged me to write. There is another side to my writing and literature that I enjoy greatly, as well: religious studies and religious literature. Also, I enjoy experimental fiction, which can bring all the genres together.
My BGS and MA was earned through Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). I instructed basic composition for three years at IPFW. I enjoyed being in the classroom. However, I prefer one on one.
To have a quiet and relaxing tutoring session, I prefer to meet in designated room within the main library, or on an university campus's library. This will give us access to items that we might find necessary for the session, as well.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Best wishes in your education." less...
