"I have a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago Crown School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice (Policy concentration), ranked the top social work graduate program in the nation. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, ranked among the top art schools in the nation.

I tutored 4th and 5th graders individually in all subjects while an undergraduate student using methods personalized for each student’s learning styles.

I was a teacher and an assistant teacher of art and music for middle school students in Chicago via the Gallery 37 after school arts program, and for high school students in Brooklyn through a grant-funded program for after school programming. These classes consisted of between 8 and 30 students at a time. As a teacher, I developed the curriculums for these classes using age and culturally appropriate materials.

I have held diverse positions reflecting my passion and skills, such as Director of a health policy and advocacy organization, as Research Coordinator for a peace and justice organization, and currently do policy and advocacy consulting for issue-oriented organizations. I planned my own study abroad program in London where I focused on music and video production and worked at a record label. My video art has been shown in film and video festivals in Chicago and NYC. I have also had a vinyl DJing business for over 25 years, performing for cultural events and at venues across the east coast, and create beaded jewelry.
