"I graduated from High School with a Distinguished Honors degree, 3.8 GPA and dozens of hours of college credit. As my younger sisters get older and move through school, I find myself spending countless hours at dinner tables helping them with their homework. Without having in person instructors, I began to notice how important it is that they have adults who are willing to sit with them and spend the time necessary to make sure they really understand concepts. And there's few things I've found as much joy in as watching them learn and grow.

I've since started helping some of their classmates with their schoolwork, as well; And once my sisters told them I'm a musician, it wasn't long before I had little ones asking me to teach them how to play the guitar, too! Everything about teaching adults and children alike new skills has been so incredibly rewarding. The moments of frustration from teaching a difficult lesson, instilling confidence in others to trust they know the answers, the pains in beginning players fingers as they learn how to play their favorite songs; my students and I have taken it all with smiles and determination, and I can't wait to share that same energy with others on this platform.

Having 2 little sisters in the k-6 age range, I'm very familiar with the content and scope of early education. I pride myself on taking an active role in their learning.

I graduated high school with over a year of college literature education already under my belt and continued to study English afterwards with Lit 201 courses at the college level. I was a regular spelling bee competitor growing up and picked up several tricks along the way to help with spelling and grammar.

I'm self-taught and have been playing guitar for 13 years now. I know exactly how much time and effort it takes to get better and learn the instrument. I'm also versatile, able to teach any level.

They say it takes 10,000 hours to master something on your own.

Why don't ya let me help you shave that number down?" less...
