"Hi, I am Anthony. As a college student with about a 4.0 GPA, I study and am fascinated by mathematics. My enrolled degree is a Mathematics Bachelor's of Science. Along with my studies, I have almost two years of tutoring and student assistance experience. I specialize in tutoring subjects such as Pre-algebra, Algebra, and Calculus 1. During tutoring sessions, I focus on listening to the needs of students and parents. As part of my tutoring approach, I like to introduce concepts in a way that is relatable to the individual student. After having a conversation about the topic, I go through a few examples and then let students try out some problems on their own. I am always open to adjusting my tutoring method to assist students according to their learning style.

I have tutored K-8 mathematics on a one-on-one level in the past. More recently, I was a learning assistant at my university for Calculus 1. While being a learning assistant, I would walk around the classroom when students are working together in groups. If a group member has a question, I guide them towards the answer rather than simply giving it. The reason for this is students are being encouraged to apply teamwork and critical thinking skills within the class.

I believe that supporting students in being motivated to learn is such an important idea. My goal, as a tutor, is to not only promote learning.
