"Hello,
My name is Dana, and I am a UCF pre-medical Biology graduate with ample experience in helping students succeed in high-level stem courses. Before graduating in three years with a 3.9 GPA, my top performance in high-level STEM courses earned me TA positions for Physics 1, Organic Chemistry, Biology and Biochemistry from classes with hundreds of students, many of which competed for TA positions. Along with my ample workload and teaching responsibilities throughout my college career, I also engaged in multiple extracurriculars, including civil engineering research, clinical work and volunteer tutoring for high school and middle school level sciences and test prep. My multi-tasking abilities and deep sense of determination to succeed in my endeavors has made me very successful in most areas of my life, including tutoring.
I have found throughout my time as a tutor and TA that the reason many students struggle with higher level sciences is not due to some shortcoming in their ability to understand difficult concepts, but in fact the teachers, tutors and professors who are teaching the courses. Students have often complained of a lack of interest from the personnel teaching them and they are often left feeling unsatisfied with a lesson, but afraid to admit so in a class full of other students. One-on-one tutoring from somebody who is compassionate and patient, and has experienced the frustration of not understanding a lesson before allows for a better student-teacher relationship that proves largely beneficial to their understanding of the material.
I understand the difficulty of picking the right tutor, as I myself have had to seek help before too. If you give me a chance, I am confident that I can prove to you why I am the best tutor for you!" less...
