"About me:
Hi! I'm Villa (they/them), a pre-medical honors student majoring in Biomedical Sciences and Biology who's tutored high school and graduate students alike. I'm currently involved in educating the public on various medical conditions and anatomy through a health clinic, and assist in research involving strains of cyanobacteria.
Since I was little, I've always been fascinated with biology, and human anatomy in particular. I remember dissecting a heart for a science lab in the fifth grade, and being amazed at the complex structures that make such an organ whole and functional. Checking out various textbooks and watching random online lectures from an early age helped me get ahead without even knowing it; and as a result, I was able to tutor multiple anatomy classes on the same campus - including the class I was a student in - while passing with an 103%. Outside of teaching general anatomy via the health clinic and tutoring, I'm currently learning graduate-level anatomy through the honors program I'm a part of, where professors and students work together to dissect and prepare cadavers for undergrad classes. I'm excited for the chance to work with students eager to learn, and to contribute to building a brighter future through education that empowers life saving fields of study :)
Resources:
No textbook? No problem! Sessions come with free use of hardcover 9th edition Marieb et. al. anatomy textbook and Netter 8th edition binder-bound atlas, as well as 3d references for bones available on my iPad.
Where I meet:
I meet at libraries, cafes, and public areas in college campuses for a comfortable, quiet, and safe study space! If your library has study rooms and whiteboards, I can bring dry erase markers! Please do keep in mind that any study room reservations on college campuses will likely need to be booked by you, as a student of the college in question, in congruence with our scheduled lesson
I look forward to tutoring you!" less...
