"I have 18 years of experience working for the Chula Vista Elementary School District, 12 years as a teacher for grades k-8. My passion for children's education began in college as a camp counselor and intercession events coordinator.

I graduated from SDSU with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences with emphasis in education. I then completed the teacher education program with my student teaching experience in the San Diego School District. As a parent of 4 grown children, I know how important an education is and feel that all students can reach their full potential through determination and hard work.

I am familiar with and experienced in the common core Eureka and Go Math teaching methods. Academically, I have always performed well in mathematics and would like to pass on my enjoyment of and comfort with the subject. Additionally, I have taught all subjects of the current elementary grade curriculum as well as homeschooled all subjects in grades 7 and 8.

I am familiar with the current state standards and enjoy helping students become proficient in reading fluency and comprehension so that they can achieve success in all subject areas.I will help students become confident in math skills at grade level as well as advanced.

I have experience with teaching students in kindergarten through 8th grade in regular education classrooms. Additionally, my experience includes teaching in Special Day Classes as well as instruction with RSP students, working one on one and in small groups. I have also tutored adults for the CBEST to help them gain the academic confidence, especially in the math section, to receive a passing score in order to go on and be qualified to teach in the California Elementary schools.
