"My name is Miss Laura. I have over 24 years experience teaching and tutoring. My background is in Special Education and I have taught all subjects in elementary and middle school. My Bachelor's degree is in Special Education and my Master's degree is in School Counseling. I also have 60 plus graduate credits in all areas of education. I believe that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

As a tutor and teacher my love for learning inspires my students. I believe in making learning fun and relevant, providing hands on experiences, helping students discover their interests and passions, finding and appealing to the child's learning style, and finding creative ways to access, provide and teach information to others. My background with school counseling also allows me to help students develop study habits, time management, and self-motivation, help students with social and/or behavioral challenges, help students plan for college and careers, help students form healthy goals and behaviors, and collaborate with teachers and families.

My experiences as a teacher and tutor include all subject areas in elementary and middle school. I have worked in classrooms and managed entire classroom as well as worked with small group of students and in one on one settings.
