"Hi there! I received my Master's of Public Health (MPH) in Health Education and Communication from Tulane University, where I graduated cum laude. I am a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), a Domestic Violence Counselor Advocate in the state of California, a certified sex educator, and I am certified in Mental Health First Aid.

I have close to ten years of experience as an educator, serving learners of all ages across a range of social services and public health fields, providing information on issues such as clean water access, Indigenous rights, equitable access to green spaces, climate justice, LGBTQIA+ health issues, and violence prevention.

Currently, I am the Outreach and Education Manager for a domestic violence service agency and provide trainings to hundreds of people every year, including our clients, fellow service providers, community members, and K-12 schools. I facilitate our 40-hour DV Counselor Advocacy training twice a year, which is required in the state of California for individuals who wish to work or volunteer at a DV agency. This training covers topics such as DV dynamics, trauma & trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, legal issues, cultural responsiveness, and many others. I also provide trainings on healthy relationships, consent, and sexual violence prevention to middle schools, high schools, and colleges in the surrounding area.

My wide-ranging background as an educator has not only provided me with a wealth of knowledge on many different topics, but also an understanding of how people of different ages, backgrounds, and identities learn and retain information. My teaching/tutoring style is specialized to the needs of the learner, and it is my philosophy to reduce the barriers to learning and understanding that an individual may face, whatever those may be.
