"I am a professional musician in New York City. I play with ska-punk band Streetlight Manifesto and have played for almost 20 shows on Broadway as both chair holder and substitute. I received a B.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I honed my ability in jazz and classical. Then I completed a Master's at New York University where I was an adjunct faculty instructor.

I have been teaching private trombone for 15 years and my students run the gamut of ages and levels. My teaching style is grounded in fundamentals but also tailored to each student. I believe that learning music enriches one’s life by improving discipline and the ability to multitask. Also, it can be fun!

In addition to trombone, I am available to teach composition/arranging and music theory. My first big band chart was the 2011 Winner for Undergraduate Orchestrated Work in Downbeat Magazine. I am well versed in Roman numeral analysis, voice leading, and counterpoint.
