But after college, when I found myself working shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of math and science guys launching satellites into space, I soon learned that the language they spoke wasn’t all that difficult to understand, it just needed to be translated into something that a new learner could comprehend. That’s where I learned the secret of teaching—take something that appears to be complicated, break it down into a series of steps that are easy to comprehend, and tailor the explanation to the way the student learns.
