"Hi, I'm Emma! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism & Mass Communications (plus an Area of Concentration in Musical Theater). I have more than 15 years of experience of professional writing and editing in a variety of capacities. I'm an independent journalist with more than 1,000 bylines in mostly national and high-profile publications, such as Teen Vogue, CNN Underscored, and more. I have served as a Senior Editor and a Contributing Editor for national publications, roles that involve working with writers at various stages of their careers to help ensure their writing, reporting, and research is the best it can be. I have written and edited content for internationally known brands, including Adobe, Marriott, Oxo, Eagle Creek, and more. I understand how to help people of any age craft a compelling narrative, organize a written piece of work so that it makes sense and flows properly, remove superfluous information and words, and ensure the entire piece is clean and grammatically correct.

But enough about my resumé: I'm here because I'm passionate about writing and editing (a true grammar nerd) and working with children and young adults to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

For the past year, I've been volunteering at a public elementary school, working with newcomer students from Latin America and helping them improve their language, communication, and social skills. While the role can be challenging at times, it brings me joy to see how excited the kids get when they grasp a new concept, read a new word, or count to a new high number. I'm also an aunt to 9 little kids, and it's one of the great joys of my life to read with them and help them learn and understand new words and concepts.
