"Greetings! My name is Dr. Krista Brown, and I am a professor and scientist specializing in epidemiology and environmental public health. I have had excellent mentors throughout my academic career, and I value the knowledge and guidance these experiences have provided. I enjoy mentoring students while providing a safe and encouraging teaching environment. My expertise lies in biology, public health, and population science, including biostatistics and specialty sciences such as epidemiology, cancer, environmental science, and infectious diseases (including COVID-19).

I completed my undergraduate in Biology and Chemistry, then finished three graduate degrees: a Master's in Business Administration (MBA), a Master's in Public Health (MPH), and a Ph.D. in Cancer Epidemiology and Population Science. I have extensive experience across a broad spectrum of topics, including research study design and methods, cancer/oncology, public health, applied research, program evaluation, and emerging infectious diseases. I offer assistance in conducting literature reviews, survey development, completing IRB/regulatory requirements, and the implementation of research studies using a variety of software platforms, such as REDCap.

Over the years, I have mentored many students through the thesis and dissertation process, providing them with resources and skills on study design selection, research methodology, proposal development, and grant writing. I support students and working professionals with manuscript writing and the assemblage of tables and figures for submission to peer-reviewed journals. I also offer proofreading and editing services for individuals who want to improve their grammar or skills in professional/scientific writing, proposal development, personal statements for graduate applications, and resume building.
