"Teaching is my passion and I am fortunate in having been able to teach a variety of subjects to students with a wide variety of academic abilities and interests. I have taught students at many academic levels, from two year colleges to post-graduate programs. At Bryant and Stratton College, a two year school, I designed the curriculum and taught a course on ecology and contemporary environmental issues. At Rice University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill I taught undergraduate courses in laboratory biology and ecology. At George Mason University I taught ecology and the computer laboratory section of a course on multivariate statistics to students in the post-graduate program in Ecology and and Environmental Science and Policy. Finally, I have graded state mandated standardized tests in English, Math, and Biology.

I know my subject matters; I am patient; and I am able to adjust my approach to teaching to how the student learns and what the course is requiring. I look forward to being able to apply my knowledge and experience in one-on-one teaching situations." less...
