"Hi, my name is Zach! I graduated college in 2015 with a BS in computer science and a BA in game design and development. I worked as a peer tutor for three years during college, and I have been teaching computer science and software engineering classes as a part-time faculty at my university since the fall of 2016. I have about ten years of experience working with college students in both a one-on-one setting (peer tutoring appointments, office hours) and groups (hosting study groups, teaching classes, group office hour meetings). I primarily tutor and teach introductory computer science topics, but I have some experience tutoring algebra and other math topics from my time as a peer tutor.

As a tutor, my focus is on supporting students as they pursue their own goals. Whether you're taking a class or learning independently, I'm here to help you get the most out of the time and effort you invest in learning. I prefer to adapt lessons and tutoring sessions to what my student is currently working on, so I don't follow a set format. We can spend a tutoring session reviewing code, projects, or homework, discussing a new topic you're trying to understand, working on practice exercises, or whatever else would be helpful to you at the time.
