"Lisa K.is a former Texas teacher and librarian with a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. She spent much of her career teaching reading and writing to students in grades 5–8, helping young learners build confidence—often within just a few lessons. Her approach is hands-on and engaging, using manipulatives and tactile activities rather than worksheets to make reading fun instead of another mundane study task.

Lisa begins her instruction with one-on-one lessons to understand each student’s unique needs, then gradually transitions them into small group settings. She strongly believes in peer-to-peer coaching as a powerful way to strengthen fluency, increase confidence in reading aloud, and help students grow comfortable sharing their voices in front of others. Her greatest joy is helping students “find their book”—the story that unlocks curiosity and opens the door to a lifelong love of reading. She firmly believes that as long as a person can read, their potential is infinite.

Beyond her work in education, Lisa writes children’s books and is currently creating a cookbook that blends her love of teaching with creativity in the kitchen. She also teaches cooking classes and works as a registered life insurance agent, a role that offers the freedom to travel and work from anywhere.

Lisa loves the outdoors—beach days, hiking trails, fishing, and anything involving water. A devoted reader herself, she is currently re-reading the classic The Secret Garden, a reminder of the transformative magic found within the pages of a good book." less...
