As a sophomore college student based in Worcester, MA, most of my experience was built in the classroom, so I know a lot of issues students face; I've experienced them myself. I excel in writing, analyzing text, but tailor based on age, skill and the task at hand. I make sure my feedback is honest and thorough. When we focus on what you already know, instead of stressing about expectations, learning clicks naturally, no pressure. I actually practiced this on my nieces, aged 8 and 7. Teaching them showed me that just a little praise and patience can turn spelling into a game they want to win. Praising their effort, and patiently steering them in the right direction until they can spell and pronounce things on their own turned learning into a fun challenge that grew their confidence to the point where they could problem solve on their own.
