"I have always loved to help others, and that small love has grown into a passion. Every student learns differently, and I make it my goal to find that learning style. I started out teaching at a local high-school as the mathematics assistant in after-school tutoring. I have privately tutored students, from ages 8 to 65, in a variety of subjects with many different needs including but not limited to ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have had the opportunity to work with students at the University of Arkansas in Monticello as a tutor in mathematics and chemistry. I have my high school teacher license in Mathematics after completing the Secondary Teacher Prep Program at Duke University. I have also instructed mathematics at The University of Alabama and received above average positive reviews. I graduated with a Ph.D. and Masters in Mathematics from the University of Alabama and my A.B. in Mathematics from Duke University. I currently work for Engineering for US All (e4usa™), 501(c)(3), as the Business Operations Coordinator and Director of Assessments. This variety of jobs and experiences has helped to form my many different teaching methods of mathematics today.
I absolutely love to come up with real-world connections to simple mathematical steps to help students understand what they are doing. I make sure to always be an encouragement; I truly believe you can do it! I will also always be on call for help with finding additional resources and motivation. I love what I do, and what I live for is seeing the light bulb that lights up when someone finally understands something! I hope to work with you to find what best meets the needs of the student and to always provide satisfaction. Constructive criticism is always encouraged. I can't wait to hear from you and help you gain confidence in both yourself and your studies :)" less...
